General Manager at Good Neighbors International

Functioning as a Field Country Office of Good Neighbors International, Good Neighbors Haiti (GNH as above) undertakes a number of key tasks including to research field areas, organize CDC(Community Development Committee), carry out Children Sponsorship and advocacy program, develop supporting children and community development program by cooperation with community people. All projects and programs make progress with Haitian communities, for Haitian communities and by Haitian communities.
In addition, GNH works with government of Haiti and builds mutual relationship with International organization for developing cooperative program.

For organizing the office system and securing transparency, accountability and effectiveness as an INGO, Good Neighbors currently looking for a General Manager for the Good Neighbors Haiti Office

* Primary Functions:

As the senior manager of GNH, the general manager will lead and manage all departments (Operation, Administration and Sponsorship Service) by assisting the director of GNH. General Manager supervises comprehensive projects of head office and communities through the following key responsibilities:

* Organizing and Managing Office

1) Keen and deep understanding of Good Neighbors International
2) Understanding the distinct identity of GNH and conveying it to staffs and community people in Haiti.
3) Supporting and reporting to GNH director when GN organize policy and system, encourages other staffs, makes plans and do monitoring.
4) Supporting, training and supervising the all departments in order to improve staffs’ capacity.
5) Maintaining a professional culture and positive working atmosphere focused on teamwork and shared responsibilities.
6) Stimulating the proactive attitude towards learning (incl. English proficiency, use of internet etc) of the staffs
7) Directing the set-up and development of (community) projects
8) Assisting in contracting new personnel
9) Steering and maintaining the course of GNH related to the overall strategy, the long-term goals and the culture, identity and values of GNH
10) Keeping s track of the overview of GNH's administration, finances, and reports
11) Developing working protocol, internal policy and control system for all Departments
12) Managing all staffs including managers
13) Organizing and handling volunteers group.(Local, International)
14) Examining documents of official contracts
15) Developing Human resource system (recruiting staffs/volunteers and training system, setting a course of action, dress code, dos and don’ts, etc.)

* Implementation of Proposal, Evaluating and Monitoring for GNH project

1) Developing a year plan (operation and budget) and long term plan.
2) Writing the project and fundraising proposal and submit to superior.
3) Facilitating visits of advocacy groups, researchers, donors, partners, etc.
4) Developing sustainable projects for GNH project community by right based approach.
5) Arranging and providing the training of proposal writing, operational work and others for work efficiency.
6) Organizing the research data and review the report of project.
7) Reviewing documents for operation and assuming the responsibility by signing.
8) Ensuring the research, documentation and sharing of lessons learned/best practices.
9) Identify gaps in research and analysis that could be used by the wider project area.
10) Reporting to superior when fraud, embezzlement, lack of documents are discovered and correct the operational and organizational problems.
11) Researching more about the international development area and share the information with other staffs for improving quality of projects

* Partnership and External Relations:
1) Managing part of GNH’s network (e.g. local community leader, local government, Humanitarian Aid Clusters, etc.) and where possible transferring it to the director
2) Representing GNH at the NGO coordination meeting in Haiti, Cluster and International Organization meeting, etc.
3) Ensuring effective collaboration between the GNH and community people.
4) Submitting organization plan and project report to government
5) Maintain and/or develop productive relationships with key individuals in relevant government ministries, local religious institutions, counterpart institutions and other NGOs, international, national and local NGO community, other donors, etc.

Qualifications requises:

1) Honest, humble and truthful spirituality
2) Haitian citizen and local residents only
3) B.A. or M.A. degree relevant to international development.
4) Work experience more than 4 years in international development area
5) Work experience as a management level and planning, operation and evaluation.
6) Work experience in Field work (organizing, empowerment, and communication with community leaders and people).
7) Professional with experience in the field of management, planning and HR /capacity building and ability to guide and delegate competencies
8) Strong understanding and experience of the Haiti Republic social, economic and legal system
9) Good command of English (Speaking and Writing)
10) Good command of computer (Typing skill, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other program)
11) Dedication to Good Neighbor’s mission and oriented to its goals
12) A very responsible, righteous, diligent and independent work attitude;
13) Excellent communication skills with community people and other external parties
14) Preferably experience in the program of children sponsorship and education.
15) Willingness to develop and learn in their work;
16) Preferably work experience with multinational group in international environment.
17) Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, willing to make a difference and willing to put a lot (of effort and of themselves) into the project.
18) Strong leadership, patience, courage and capacity to achieve excellent results under unfavorable conditions.

We rapidly launched emergency relief aid after earthquake and served as a channel between donors and earthquake affected community people, furthermore involved in rebuild communities from the effects of the quake. Good Neighbors accomplished successful fruition through various projects; distribution relief items, providing medical service and tents for earthquake victims, construction shelters for displaced people and building public school.

Good Neighbors decided to establish community development projects in Haiti that would provide opportunities for Haitian communities to empower themselves and build social capital and in turn start a process of sustainable development.
