Overview
Under the authority and supervision of the Directors, the full-time employee is responsible for applying our mission and vision in the management oversight and execution of our activities between Maison De Lumiere (MDL), IBESR and family members of our children. These responsibilities will include: evaluating and monitoring the service provided by the orphanage towards the children as well as developing family reintegration, reunification, and preservation plans. These requirements of Child Hope International dba Orphelinat Maison de Lumiere in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, are as described herein:

Tasks
Work closely with Directors, Orphanage Supervisor, Future Hope Manager and Office manager
Meet weekly with Directors providing updates
Manage Social Worker and two interns
Develop and implement our Family Hope vision and strategy of family reconciliation, aftercare plans & family preservation
Develop and oversee IRP’s (Individual Reunification Plans) of children in the homes
Identify needs and arrange for psychological and social support to children and families
Review and publish social worker’s monthly reports regarding the welfare of the children, in both French & English
Responsible for overseeing the renewal of the Orphelinat Maison de Lumiere license (every 2 years)
Manage Children’s Files, updating legal records and missing documents

Meet the parents of children as needed
Search for local families to re-establish contact and reconciliation
Develop and maintain relationships with other ministries, for possible placement of child in foster family, family counseling, and education assistance
Provide recommendations for children which require special assistance
Carry out social surveys of families in need
Maintain good relationship with IBESR. Help facilitate with our social worker, all activities between IBSR, parents, and MDL

Metrics for Success
Kids graduate out of MDL and into a family, and know their residence six months in advance of transition
Kids visit family members and homes during summer break
Kids are reunified into family and transitioned out of the orphanage prior to graduation
After care follow up 1st week, 1st month, 3rd month, 6th month, 9th month 1 year mark
Families regain hope through Christian motivated care, relationships and training

What success looks like
Creating hope for families, by reconciliation of kids and family and empowering these relationships, through resources and training
Families in crisis within our community are impacted through orphan prevention strategies
All of our kids are reconciled into families
Our Family Hope program becomes new identity of impact

Qualifications requises:

Required
Masters Degree in Social Work preferred, not required
Degree in Social Work
Experience working with IBESR
Prior Experience working with children
Kreyol, French and English
Computer skills: Typing and document organization
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Other
From time to time the employee may be asked by the Director(s) or the Orphanage Supervisor to perform a job duty not stated above, but within the normal operation of the organization.
