Construction Project Manager at International Child Care
Description du poste:
Responsible for all aspects of design and construction from the owner’s perspective. Provide leadership and daily direction and communication to the architects, engineers and construction firm hired to design and construct the new facility to ensure a safe, successful project, completed on time and budget with a minimal amount of surprises.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Assist the CEO / Board in the selection process for all members of the construction team – architect / engineer / construction firm• Establish a good ongoing relationship with all governmental agencies to ensure successful project approval, permitting, provision of utilities and all others as necessary• Interact, as appropriate, with all neighbors to ensure a good relationship and minimal amount of disruption to the surrounding neighborhood• Maintain excellent communication between the owner and all members of the project team, to include the preparation of a monthly owner’s report• Provide leadership for all facets of the project management to ensure the completion of the project on schedule, on budget and with a minimum of surprises• Interact positively with and incorporate feedback from all hospital staff / user groups as appropriate, to include a family Advisory Council and Kid’s Council• Interact with potential donors and assist in developing excitement and support for the project.• Exhibit a knowledge of and commitment to project safety and security
Qualifications requises:
• Significant, successful construction / project
management experience in Haiti
• Fluent in French, English and Creole
• Strong educational background in architecture
or civil engineering
• Excellent communication skills (oral and
written) including the capacity to produce and
present progress reports leadership skills
• Ability to read and interpret plans and
specifications
• Computer skills to include, Office, Project
management programs etc
• A track record of exhibiting the highest level of
ethics and integrity
• Capacity to perform in a multi-tasking
environment and manage all facets of a project
(programming, prioritizing, scheduling,
monitoring).
• Willing to commit to the duration of the project
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills with the
capacity for successful negotiation and efficient
problem solving
• Outstanding references
• Ideally construction experience with healthcare
facilities in Haiti, but not a requirement
